Garden Route Tour

The Garden Route, a slender stretch of coastal plain on the N2 between Mosselbay and Storms River Mouth, has a legendary status of South Africa’s paradise – reflected in local names such as Garden of Eden and Wilderness.


  Day 1

Oudtshoorn – ‘Ostrich capital of the world’

Dinner, bed and breakfast at the Riempies Estate Hotel in
  Day 2

The Cango Caves - 29km from Oudtshoorn, at the head of the
      picturesque Cango Valley, lies the spectacular underground wonder
      of the Klein Karoo - the Cango Caves. Situated in a limestone ridge
      parallel to the well known Swartberg Mountains, you will find the
      finest dripstone caverns, with their vast halls and towering formations.

The Cango Wildlife Ranch, where you can view crocodile, cheetah,
      tiger, lion, jaguar, puma, and as an option, touch a cheetah!

Dinner, bed and breakfast on the waters edge at the Knysna Quays
  Day 3

The quaint town of Knysna or a morning excursion of the Garden of
      Eden and the Big Tree.

The town 102km east of Mossel Bay, now stands at the hub of the
      Garden Route, it’s lack of ocean beaches compensated for by it’s hilly
      setting around the Knysna Lagoon, its handsome forests and good
      opportunities for adventure sports.

  Day 4

Mossel Bay, visiting the Post Office Tree, where Sixteenth Century
      marines left messages for passing ships in an old boot under a
      milkwood tree. It is believed that this may well be the same tree.
